Step by step

Our Responsible Investing Process

01

Presentation and Due Diligence

  • Finbase presents a loan investment opportunity with an executive summary about the security and borrower.

  • You conduct due diligence by asking questions and evaluating the opportunity.

  • Based on your evaluation, you decide to approve or decline the opportunity. You have the final say on your investment decisions.

Agreement and Documentation

  • If the opportunity is approved, Finbase and yourself (or your investment entity) sign a debt security agreement specific to the security property.

  • The Borrower signs the loan documentation, personal guarantee, and GSA (if applicable).

Fund Disbursement

  • You advance funds to Finbase.

  • Finbase registers a First Mortgage security over the property and then advances the funds to the Borrower's Solicitor's Trust account.

Interest Payments and Management

  • The Borrower pays monthly interest to Finbase.

  • Finbase pays you interest monthly (less RWT).

  • Finbase sends you a monthly statement and manages all communication with the Borrower, including recovery of any default funds.

  • At the end of the loan term, your principal is returned to you.

Our Responsible Investing Process

We allow you to register a security interest against Finbase in respect of the loan as a further safeguard. You can rely on the security interest to recover your loan capital or interest payments in the unlikely event of Finbase being unable to return these funds.

For each asset, the amount of funds that can be lent will not exceed 60% of the property’s value. The loan will be secured with a first ranking mortgage and registered on the title to ensure that your funds are secure in times of any market downturn or other unforeseen circumstances.

How do I Know That Money Invested with Finbase is Secure?

national agency Arizto Real Estate, which employs over 150 staff throughout New Zealand.

Pernell’s in-depth property trading experience includes trading more than 50 residential properties. He has firsthand knowledge of the key factors contributing to a successful property transaction.

Pernell’s management and financial experience extends into the education sector as an alumni and active member of Dilworth School, which has over $1B of assets under management. Additionally, he is the current Treasurer of the Dilworth Old Boys Association.
